A life-sized cardboard replica of an Ipswich building is due to be built and torn down as part of an arts festival in Suffolk.

French artist Olivier GrossetĂŞte is currently asking residents to nominate which local buildings they want to see recreated in cardboard during October's Spill festival.

Organisers will draw up a shortlist, which we'll be able to vote on later in the year.

On his website, GrossetĂŞte said the aim of his 'monumental construction' is "as much about sharing the experience of a collective construction as the final work of art... that touches both young and old and enables people to meet and build joyfully together."

Once the building is constructed, Olivier says he'll want the public to get involved in demolishing the building: "After it has been pulled down, the public is asked to trample and jump all over the boxes.

"This is an integral part of the project. This symbolic moment is fun."
