Suffolk man jailed for multiple drug offenses

A man from Bury St Edmunds has been sentenced to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to drug offences.

Daniel Anderson, 43, of Mayfield Road, Bury St Edmunds, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday 16 May.

He was sentenced to the following having pleaded guilty at a previous hearing:

  • Possession of Class A controlled drug (cocaine) with intent to supply – 32 months
  • Possession of Class A controlled drug (heroin) with intent to supply – 30 months (concurrent)
  • Possession of cannabis – 2 months (concurrent)

Officers from the west Kestrel team had reason to detain Anderson while he was inside a vehicle in Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds on 31 May last year.

A search of the vehicle resulted in small amounts of suspected drugs being located.

Anderson was also found in possession of a large quantity of suspected heroin and crack cocaine and over £450 in cash.

Further searches were conducted at his home address with a further golf-ball sized wrap of suspected Class A drugs and crack cocaine located along with over 150g of cannabis, with Anderson subsequently charged.
