A woman in her seventies passed away in hospital
A woman has died following a crash in Felixstowe.
Emergency services were called shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday 19 November, to reports of a collision between a white Nissan GTR and a pedestrian on Church Road.
Police, ambulance, East Anglian Air Ambulance and a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) all attended the incident.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where police confirmed she died.
The driver of the Nissan, an 18-year-old man, was initially taken to hospital by officers for treatment.
They then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance and failing to stop after a collision.
He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he currently remains.
The road was closed while emergency services attended and an investigation took place, but it has since reopened.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
