Man arrested on suspicion of arson after Sudbury flat fire
Officers believe items were posted through the letterbox and set alight
A man's been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire in Sudbury.
It happened between 7.30am and 8am on Sunday morning (9 July), at a flat in Minden Road.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze and evacuated residents of other flats in the building.
The targeted flat was empty at the time of the fire.
Officers believe items were placed through the letterbox and deliberately set alight, causing damage to the door and internal walls.
Following initial police enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Sudbury has been arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life.
He has been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he currently remains for questioning.
