A Government decision on whether a new nuclear reactor will be built on the Suffolk coast could be delayed.

We are expecting an announcement on Sizewell C in April - but a team preparing a report have asked for a 6-week extension.

The Business Secretary, Kwasi Kwarteng, has approved the request and pushed back the deadline to 25th February.

The panel of experts had three months to produce the report, but due to a range of factors, it has applied for more time.

French energy giant EDF wants to build the new reactor to the north of the existing Sizewell B plant.

If the project gets the go-ahead - construction is expected to take about 9 years.
