Police have made a second arrest in connection with a dog attack at a Lowestoft caravan park at the weekend which left a man badly injured.

The victim was out walking his dog in the North Denes park between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday (December 31) when two American bulldog type animals attacked his pet.

The man was also punched and kicked by a group of young people. His dog suffered fatal injuries and had to be put down.

A 22 year old man was arrested last night on suspicion of assault and is still being questioned. A dog was seized at his address.

Police seized another dog earlier this week - a 21 year old man was arrested and has now been released on bail until March 4.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses or anyone who captured CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
