More than £22,000 has been raised for Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity - after the Santa Fun Run over the weekend.

It's the 13th time the event's been held... this year it involved 400 people dressed as Father Christmas.

Those taking part ran 3 or 5km round Colchester's Castle Park.

The cash will go towards making improvements at both local hospitals.

Events fundraising manager for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity, Laetitia Holland, said: “It’s been a tough few years for the NHS, but this event has given us the chance to get together in person and support our staff and services.

"The Santa Fun Run is the perfect start to the festive season and there’s such a feel good factor about everyone completing the run together.

“We always feel very humbled when our community support us with such enthusiasm. The money raised will genuinely make life-changing improvements to a wide range of departments and services at our hospitals and community sites."
