Four men charged following shooting in Red Lodge

Police were called to reports of shots fired at the weekend.

Four men have been charged following a shooting in Red Lodge near Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 4th April.

Police were called to Elms Road at around 2.55pm to reports shots had been fired.

An 18 year-old man and a 16 year-old boy were both injured by shotgun pellets, and a 17 year-old girl was also injured after falling while trying to run to safety.

All three were taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Four people arrested on Sunday afternoon and taken to police custody for questioning have now all been charged with two counts of malicious wounding with intent to cause GBH and also violent disorder.

Their details are:

Thomas Mongan, 24, and from Gregory Road in Southall, the London Borough of Ealing. He was also charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life.

Jim Mongan, who's 29 and from Shaftesbury Avenue in the London Borough of Harrow.

Bernard Mongan, who's 35 and from Setchell Drove, Cottenham, Cambridgeshire.

David Mongan, 25, and from Setchell Drove, Cottenham, Cambridgeshire.

All four are due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday 6th April.

Police say their enquiries are continuing and they are still working to identify and apprehend other potential suspects.
