Private renters in East Suffolk are being asked to help improve homes in the district.

East Suffolk Council has teamed up with Generation Rent to launch a pilot consultation to find out about people's experiences and how to better them.

It's focused on private renters in the Harbour & Normanston, Beccles & Worlingham, and Aldeburgh & Leiston wards.

The first part of the consultation includes a survey running until 21 June, with forums and focus group discussions to be held later this year.

Richard Kerry, Cabinet Member for Housing, said:

"Carrying out this survey will help East Suffolk Council better understand the challenges private renters face in East Suffolk and I want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved and share their experiences, good or bad, as this will help us to improve homes in East Suffolk, supporting private renters and ensuring they know their rights."

People can take part via East Suffolk Council's website.
