Man arrested after Suffolk police officer injured in crash

He's been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision

Police have arrested a man in connection with a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Newmarket where a police officer was injured.

It happened on The Avenue shortly after 2:45am on Sunday 12 November, when a vehicle was in crash with a police officer and failed to stop.

The female officer sustained injuries and was taken to hospital where she currently remains for treatment.

The injuries are not described as life threatening or life changing.

On Monday evening (13 November) a 22 year old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers are now urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.
