Police appeal after suspected assault and hate crime at Ipswich pub

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault and suspected hate crime at a pub in Ipswich.

This happened at around 20 past midnight on October 14, in the men's toilets at the Cock and Pye pub in Upper Brook Street.

The victim was approached by a man who questioned him about his sexuality, before punching him repeatedly in the face - leaving him needing ongoing treatment.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and released under investgation.

Officers are appealing for three people, thought to be potential witnesses, to come foward.
