Police appeal after girl sexually assaulted in Ipswich

Police have launched an investigation after a girl reported being sexually assaulted in Ipswich.

It happened in the Norwich Road area betweeen 5:05pm and 5:20pm yesterday (Thursday 24).

The victim was walking from Bramford Lane towards Brooks Hall Road when she was approached by a man who attacked her, before threatening her and leaving in the direction of Norwich Road.

The suspect is described as a white man aged between 20-40 years of age, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, average build, with light brown neck length shaggy hair.

He spoke with an English accent and was wearing dark clothing and a knitted top and was pushing a bicycle.

The girl is now being supported by specialist officers, while additional patrols are being carried out in the area.

Anyone who captured dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage in the area at the time is being urged to contact police.
