Police appeal after delivery driver threatened with knife in Sudbury

He was grabbed by four men during an attempted robbery last night

Police have launched an investgation after a delivery driver was grabbed by four men in Sudbury before being threatened with a knife.

It happened last night (March 3) on Beatty Road at some point between 7:20pm and 7:35pm.

The delivery man, who was driving a white Ford Transit van, was targeted by the group of men as he walked toward the back of his vehicile.

He was pushed up against a wall before the assailants demanded he hand over his mobile phone and keys.

However the attempted robbery was then interrupted by a dog walker and all four men, who were wearing dark clothing, ran from the scene empty handed.

Officers are still trying to trace the dog walker and are also looking for any additional witnesses.
