Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was bitten by a dog in Bury St Edmunds.

It happened at around 4:30pm yesterday as the 12 year old was cycling along the bottom of Spring Lane. He was attacked by a small back terrier type dog which wasn't on a lead.

He suffered bruising to his legs and was left shaken up by the incident.

Officers are now seeking the owner - a woman in her late 30s - who was walking another, similar dog in the area.

She is described as being approximately 5ft 5ins, of medium build and with dark hair which was tied back. She was wearing a black coat.
