Sudbury is to get a permanent Post Office once again, after bosses at the company confirmed a pop-up service is here to stay.

The service will remain in place at Unit 8 of the Borehamgate Shopping Centre, which is now undergoing an extensive refit.

Building work is set to be finished on December 6, with an extra post office counter being opened.

The pop up Post Office service was first launched in Sudbury in June 2022 but was threatened with closure earlier this year.

Wendy Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring a permanent Post Office to Sudbury as we know how important a Post Office is to a community."

"We thank Babergh District Council and the Postmaster for working with us to transform this temporary location into a permanent one.

"The whole premises will have undergone a facelift, new counters, extra Post Office services, new signage and addition of a wider range of retail alongside the Post Office.”
