Man in his 80's suffers life changing injuries after crash on A14 in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision on the A14 in Bury St Edmunds.

Officers were called to the A14 near to junction 43 at 8.56am on Thursday 13 March following reports of a collision involving two cars and a van.

The van involved was a white Vauxhall Vivaro, while the two cars were a silver Renault Scenic and a grey Citroen C4.

The driver of the Renault, a man aged in his 80s, sustained serious injuries, described as life-changing.

He was taken by land ambulance to hospital, where he remains.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended.

The road was closed in both directions. All lanes in both directions were fully reopened by 12.50pm.

Anyone who saw the collision or has dash cam footage prior to the incident is being urged to contact police.
