Replacement buses between Ipswich and Colchester after damage to overhead cables

There is currently serious disruption to train services between Ipswich and Colchester due to damage to overhead cables.

All lines have been blocked since last night as engineers work to fix the lines between Manningtree and Ipswich.

There's severe disruption to train services between London and Ipswich, all the way up to Norwich.

A limited bus replacement service is running between Ipswich and Colchester, although passengers are being advised to expect significant delays until the end of the day.

Greater Anglia tickets will be accepted on East Midlands Railways between Norwich and Ely or Peterborough and Cross Country trains between Stansted Airport and Peterborough.

Tickets will also be valid on Great Northern services between Ely and Cambridge and London King Cross. London Underground services between Kings Cross and Liverpool Street.

People with advance tickets will be allowed to travel on earlier or later services.
