Time's running out for parents in Suffolk to find a new nursery for their children after it was announced the Nature Den Nursery is to close at end of March

The Ipswich nursery is closing due to low demand, rising energy costs and underfunding.

However one upset mum is petitioning to keep it open.

Rhianne Hay's children attend the school and she's told us she is devastated at the news:

"I have a child with special educational needs who was struggling a lot, but at this nursery the teachers had patience and understanding with his needs and supported me through all of the challenges.

"Without their help, he would not be where he is today, and I have not yet found a school that does this for children who have disabilities.

"They are also perfect, for my daughter, who currently goes here. She was very shy, and didn't like to talk to people, but they have helped her greatly in being confident and making friends.

"Losing this school would mean I would have to find her a new school and I'm worried that will reset her progress and her confidence."

She explains why she decided to set up the petition:

"This school not only means the world to me, but to others as well. It means a lot to the local community and holds a place in my heart for the way they handled, and supported, my son's disability.

"They continue to go above and beyond for others, helping our children develop and grow tp become the best versions of themselves.

"For the people high up it's just a business, but to us parents and teachers, it means more than that - it's a second home for our children."

The Nature Den Nursey did not want to comment on the closure.
