Young people who care for someone with a mental health condition were given the chance to enjoy the thrills and spills of Pleasurewood Hills during a fun-packed day out organised to give them a break from their caring roles.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) arranged for around 100 carers aged between 12 and 16 to visit the Lowestoft theme park to take some time out and socialise with others in a similar position.

Howard Tidman, a Senior Practitioner with Acute Services who is based in Great Yarmouth said:

“These young people face a lot of responsibility in their role as carers, which they have to juggle alongside schoolwork and other commitments. We wanted to give them the opportunity to have fun, socialise with others and enjoy the rides at the theme park.

“Above all, we hope that everyone that came along had fun and enjoyed the thrills and spills on offer at Pleasurewood Hills.”
