Suffolk County Council looks to submit plan for 1,000 new homes near Mildenhall
A fresh public consultation has been launched to ask locals for their views
A new public consultation is being launched on plans for more than 1,000 new homes near Mildenhall, as Suffolk County Council finalises its ideas for a 'new community'.
The massive development will also include public spaces, a new school, a new community centre and spaces for businesses.
A new care home is also in the masterplan.
30% of the new homes will be classed as "affordable".
The site would be spread over 83 hectares of farmland close to the Mildenhall Hub, with the B1102 running through the middle of the revelopment.
Most of the land is already owned by the County Council.
Suffolk County Councillor Richard Smith said:
“This is a major scheme that will bring new homes and investment to Mildenhall and the views of the public are an important part of the process.
“Those views will be incorporated as much as possible in our planning application and I would urge people in and around Mildenhall to let us know what they think.”

A public exhibition of designs will be held at the Mildenhall Hub on February 21 from 2pm to 8pm.
