Man jailed for five years for burglary offences
One was near Bury St Edmunds
A man from Luton has been jailed for over five years for a string of offences - including one near Bury St Edmunds.
Matthew Greenaway from Petersfield Gardens, appeared at Luton Crown Court on Thursday (23 September) where he was jailed for five years, two months.
The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary that all took place in Luton on 12 April 2021.
Following his arrest on 19 April and charge on 20 April to the four offences, he chose to engage with Suffolk police’s Operation Converter team.
This saw a further nine offences of burglary admitted to and taken into consideration. In three cases the burglaries involved the theft of car keys and vehicles, including one incident that took place at The Pound in Hawstead overnight between 15 April and 16 April this year.
An Audi TT was stolen as were items of jewellery, with the vehicle located in Luton after being spotted by officers from Bedfordshire police.
The victim was able to have her vehicle returned to her.
