Man charged after man assaulted during robbery in Ipswich

A man from Ipswich has been charged with robbery after an incident on Wherstead Road on Wednesday 13th September.

It happened at some point between 5pm and 6pm when the victim who is a man in his 30's met with two males and a female he was already acquainted with.

The victim was hit in the face, which caused severe swelling and a cut wound. During the assault, the male had his mobile phone stolen.

Yesterday (21st September), police arrested a man and he was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

33 year old Damien Carrol, of Beaufort Street in Ipswich was charged with robbery and was released on police bail to appear before Ipswich Magistrates court next month.

Police are still looking to hear from any witnesses, who may have been driving on Wherstead Road between 7.15pm and 7.40pm. and has dash cam footage of the incident.
