Man arrested after serious crash on A12 near Blythburgh

A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured during a crash on the A12 near Blythburgh.

Officers were called at around 10:55pm on Sunday (August 27) to a two vehicle collision near Thorington.

A grey Range Rover Evoque and a white Nissan Qashqai were involved.

A woman who was a passenger in the Nissan was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital following the crash.

A 26 year old man who was driving the Range Rover was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drug driving, failing to provide a breath test, possession of drug and driving withouth insurance.

He has been released on bail until September 24.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who captured dashcam footage at the scene to get in touch.
