Lowestoft man charged with false imprisonment, robbery and assault

The 41 year old was arrested in connection with assault on a vulnerable man in his 60s

A Lowestoft man has been charged with false imprisonment, as well as robbery and GBH against a vulnerable man in his 60s.

Police were called on October 28 after finding a man had been assaulted at a flat in Denmark Road.

The victim has suffered visible injuries and it subsequently emerged he'd been hit in the face with a frying pan and had been tied up and burned.

The assaults happened between 23 September and 28 October.

He suffered a broken arm and nose and was also robbed of his bank card and mobile phone.

41 year old Jonathan Quinn, of Denmark Road. was arrested on October 29. He has now been charged with:

• assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent (occurring on 23 September)

• assault causing actual bodily harm (occurring between 14 and 24 October)

• false imprisonment; and assault causing actual bodily harm (both occurring between 19 October and 24 October)

• robbery; and a further count of assault causing actual bodily harm (both occurring on 28 October)

Quinn has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on December 1.
