Suffolk Police are highlighting the value of public information being sent to them after a tip from a member of the public helped them locate a cannabis factory in Lowestoft.

Following the tip-off, officers carried out a search at a property on Norwich Road in the town on Tuesday 9th January.

Inside, they found five grow rooms with over 100 plants.

Officers are now urging local residents to be vigilant to suspicious activity and are asking anyone with information about drug-related activity to contact them.

They've provided these signs to spot a cannabis factory:

  • A strong or sickly sweet smell in the air
  • Buildings with windows constantly blocked off
  • High levels of heat and condensation
  • The constant buzz of ventilation
  • People coming and going from an address at unsociable hours
