Two taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries following Icklingham crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-vehicle collision in Icklingham.

Officers were called at just after 11pm on Monday 22 April to reports of a collision on the A1101, involving a grey Volkswagen Golf and a white Audi A1.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance and the drivers of both vehicles sustained serious injuries, including bone fractures.

The driver of the VW Golf – a woman aged in her 30s - was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, with her injuries considered potentially life-changing. The driver of the Audi – a man aged in his 20s – was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment, with injuries also considered to be potentially life-changing.

The road remained closed until 5.45am yesterday morning, Tuesday 23 April.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
