Kieran McKenna's been named Championship Manager of the Month for March.

The award, which Town’s boss also won in September, comes following a month which saw the Blues pick up 12 points from a possible 15, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Kieran posed with the trophy alongside the coaching and backroom staff at Playford Road, once again highlighting the group effort behind a successful period for the side.

"A reflection of the work of the players on the pitch"

"Whether it’s as a staff member or as a player, awards are always reflective of the team," said the Blues boss.

"Any Manager of the Month award is really a reflection of the work of the players on the pitch, and the work of the players on the pitch is a reflection of the work of so many people at the training ground and also at the stadium.

"It’s nice to share these things with the staff. In the middle of a very busy schedule and a busy two weeks, and of course an exciting end to the season, it was nice to be able to share that moment with them...

"We’ll all keep pushing now until the end of the season and try and finish as well as we can, and give the players the best chance to keep performing as they have been."

Kieran is also nominated for the EFL Championship Manager of the Season, the winner of which will be announced at the annual EFL Awards ceremony on Sunday, 14 April.

Leif Davis was in the running for the Championship Player of the Month, with West Brom’s Mikey Johnston receiving the gong.
