Defender Janoi Donacien to remain with Ipswich Town next season

Town have activated a clause in his contract allowing him to stay for another year

Ipswich Town defender Janoi Donacien is to remain with the Tractor Boys for the 2023/24 season, after the club activated an option to extend his contract.

The 29 year old's deal was set to expire over the summer. He's made 37 appearances for the first team during this campaign.

JD, who was born in Saint Lucia, started at Luton aas a youth player, before sepnding time at Aston Villa and Accrington Stanley. He made the switch to Ipswich Town in 2019 after spending time in Suffolk on loan.

Speaking to the ITFC website, Janoi said: "I’m delighted to have it confirmed that I will extend my stay at the Club for another year."

"This is a great group to be a part of, so I’m excited to continue that next season.

"For now, though, my full focus is on helping the team achieve what we want to achieve in the coming weeks."
