Ipswich Town hail 'record breaking' kit launch - with thousands raised for MND research
£11,000 has been raised so far for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation
Ipswich Town say the club's new home and away kits are the 'fastest selling' in ITFC history, with thousands raised for MND research.
Town unveiled the new kit on Saturday, with the Tractor Boys donning the classic blue and white home shirts at their pre-season opener against Felixstowe.
With Ipswich back in the Championship next season the primary away kit is orange for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign.
£2 from every shirt sale is going to the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, with £11,000 raised so far.
Town are backing the charity as its also supported by Town legend Marcus Stewart, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year.
Town CEO, Mark Ashton, said: “I pulled up at Felixstowe and was amazed by how many people were already wearing the new kits, which had only gone on sale a few hours earlier.
“We’re working in partnership with Marcus and his wife Louise, who were both so supportive as part of the launch, and we as a Club want to support him and the charity he is working with.
“Two pounds from every home kit we sell in July will be going to the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, so I’d ask fans to get along, buy the kit and remember we are supporting Marcus.
“Sales have flown and we’re so grateful to the fans who have gone out and bought the new shirts.”
