It's being run by the Borough Council

Ipswich Borough Council is working with organisations across the town to deliver a wide-ranging youth employment programme that is aimed at improving the skills and prospects of young people entering work.
This programme has been developed and funded in collaboration with Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Public Sector Leaders.
As part of the programme, Creative Computing Club is providing an ‘’Introduction to Technology”. They will be running six workshops at their technology lab in London Road over eight weeks that will see 60 young people aged 16-25 learn and develop skills in computer programming, electronics and robotics, desktop publishing, social media management and presentation. There will also be multiple opportunities for people to join at different times throughout the year and at different entry points.
Cllr David Ellesmere, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council said:
“I’m really pleased the Council is able to support organisations in Ipswich giving young people the skills to get jobs. This great scheme from Creative Computing Club builds on their already impressive track record of getting young people interested in technology. As a software developer, I know there’s always a shortage of good programmers so it’s great to see more people being introduced to the employment opportunities that are available.”
Matthew Applegate, Director and Mentor at Creative Computing Club said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Creative Computing Club to help people not in employment, education of training (NEETs) in Ipswich by providing worthwhile and engaging technology skills from September.
“This scheme will help 16 to 25 years-olds learn skills that will provide them with the confidence to start careers in technology.”
