A signed Ipswich Town football shirt is going under the hammer to help raise money for a Suffolk mental health charity.

The whole team have left their signatures on the shirt, which is going on auction today, with bids closing on Saturday.

It's all in aid of Suffolk Mind, which is taking part in The Big Give which runs from midday on 29th November to midday on 6th December.

It involves businesses making pledges which are unlocked when donations are made during the campaign, matching the amounts given.

ITFC Midfielder, Kyle Edwards, arranged for his number shirt to be signed by the team before donating it to the charity.

Jon Neal, CEO of the charity, said: “The Big Give is a great opportunity for us to raise funds to support the vital services our charity provides – and for people supporting us to get their donations doubled.

“I’d like to thank Kyle Edwards, the rest of the ITFC team and those who have made pledges, for their support of Suffolk Mind.

“Our own figures suggest that three out of every five people in Suffolk is experiencing stress or mild mental ill health, a situation that has worsened since the pandemic. So, additional funding in mental health services is as important as ever.”

Businesses and groups have pledged to match up to ÂŁ4,500 of donations to Suffolk Mind, which aims to raise a total of ÂŁ9,000 including the pledges.

Kyle Edwards’ signed ITFC shirt will be sold during a silent auction. A spokesperson for the club said: “We’ve been partnered with Suffolk Mind for a number of years now and will continue to show our support.

“Hopefully the funds raised from this signed item will help Suffolk Mind continue to offer vital mental health services to our community.”
