Ipswich are now second in the Championship - thanks to a 1-0 win against Southampton.
It's the Tractor Boys' sixth win in seven since Kieran McKenna's side were promoted from League One.
Omari Hutchinson’s goal in the 30th minute secured the win.
In his first league start for the Club, Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson scored the winning goal in the 30th minute.
Boss Kieran McKenna made four changes to his side for the visit to St Mary’s, with Hutchinson, Jack Taylor and Brandon Williams all making their first league starts for the Club, with George Hirst also coming into the starting XI.
Freddie Ladapo, Nathan Broadhead, Massimo Luongo and Leif Davis were dropped out.
Speaking to Ipswich Football Club's TownTV, boss McKenna reflected on the win: “I’m really, really proud of the players after a top performance, which is exactly what it needed to be because it was never going to be anything other than incredibly hard-fought.
“We did everything we needed to do against a team packed with Premier League quality players and we managed the game well. We got the first goal and played really, really well...
“Of course we want to score the second goal and improve to be more clinical in the moments we have, but knowing we can see it out at 1-0 and get our rewards is a positive for sure."
