An Ipswich man's been charged - after an investigation into sexual assault in Dover.

It happened around 10pm on Sunday on St James Street - when a teenage girl was approached by a man making inappropriate comments and touching her arm and face.

Members of the public were able to intervene.

When officers attended the scene, they were then informed of a report that a person had been trying the door handles of vehicles in the same area.

Detectives investigating the incident have now charged Ali Issaq, 28 of Wherstead Road, with one count of sexual touching, vehicle interference, and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 5 December.
