Elderly woman in critical condition in hospital after Ipswich flat fire
It happened early this morning
An elderly woman's in a critical condition in hospital after a fire in Ipswich.
It happened around 2:30am in a ground floor flat on Shetland Close.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets extinguished the fire.
They rescued one elderly woman from the flat and performed first aid until the an ambulance arrived.
She was then taken to hospital.
It's not yet known what caused the fire, but an investigation is due to take place later today.
