Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Ipswich.

It happened on Portman Road, near Barrack Corner, at around 2pm on Sunday.

The pedestrian was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, in Cambridge, after the single-vehicle crash.

The driver of the car involved in the collision, a silver Mercedes, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
