Ipswich Town are through to round three of the Carabao Cup, after beating Reading 3-1 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

During the 90 minutes, Reading were up 2 minutes in thanks to an own goal from Brandon Williams on his Ipswich debut.

Later in the game Town came from behind to lead 2-1, thanks to goals from Cameron Humphreys and Freddie Ladapo, before Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan levelled for the hosts in the closing stages.

In penalties, Conor Chaplin, Lee Evans and Jack Taylor all scored from the spot for Town, with Cieran Slicker saving from Charlie Savage and seeing two Reading penalties fly over his crossbar.

The draw for round three, when the Premier League sides playing in Europe this season enter the competition, will be made today.
