Ipswich Town dare to dream with 2 - 0 win over promotion rivals Bolton
The Tractor Boys now have five straight wins in League One
Ipswich Town have kept their bid for promotion firmly on track with a 2 - 0 away win at rivals Bolton over the weekend.
George Hirst and Cameron Burgess struck either side of half time to put Town in front, with Christian Walton keeping a clean sheet by saving a second half penalty from Dion Charles.
Town have now won five league games in a row, a feat they haven't managed since October 2003.
Prospects for promotion are also looking good. Town now sit in 3rd in League One, with six points separating the Blues and nearest rivals Barnsley.
Another win could see the Tractor Boys overtake Plymouth Argyle, if other results go their way.
Speaking to the ITFC website post match, boss Kieran McKenna said: "It wasn't the most beautiful game of football, but it was snowing and the conditions weren't ideal."
"It was a tight and tense game and it came down to big moments. We controlled as much of the game as we could, but had to be patient and wait for our moments which we then executed.
"The opening goal was brilliant. Wes carried it well and the double movement from Hirsty was very good. He took it well.
"In the second half we wanted the second goal but it didn't play out that way at the start. We needed a big save from Christian and that's the benefit of having a fantastic goalkeeper.
"We showed good character both individually and as a team. We competed very well and saw the game out professionally. It's a very good result.
"The support was fantastic so I am pleased the fans can enjoy the result. Hopefully they have a safe journey home."
