Ipswich Town pay tribute to life-long supporter Irene Davey, who's died aged 89

Tributes are being paid to a life-long Ipswich town supporter, who's died aged 89.

Irene Davey was a Blues fan for close to 80 years, attending her first game in 1945.

She also served as Chair of the Ipswich branch of the Supporters Club for 40 years.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, the supporters club paid tribute, saying: "Irene was a massive part of the Official Supporters Club, and she will be missed by all. May she rest in peace. Once a blue, always a blue."
