Urgent treatment will continue at Ipswich Hospital on day of Queen's funeral
Hospital bosses say patients can expect to be contacted about any appointments planned for Monday
Urgent treatment for patients at Ipswich Hospital on Monday, despite health services elsewhere in the county being closed due to the Queen's funeral.
Hospital managers have been contacting patients with appointments on Monday 19 about the arrangements.
Treatment for cancer patients and those needing urgent surgery is expected to continue.
Those in need of less urgent treatment could have their appointments pushed forward into this week or may face a delay.
In a statement, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust said: "We want to make sure we are keeping all our patients safe, and we are getting in touch with patients to let them know what is happening with their appointment."
"More services will be running than on a usual bank holiday with an emphasis on providing care and treatment for our most urgent patients, including cancer patients and urgent surgery.
"Teams are working hard to rebook any delayed appointments within 28 days. Some appointments will be brought forward to this week.
"If you have an appointment for Monday, please do get in touch with the hospital via the number on your appointment letter if you haven’t heard from us by Friday."
At West Suffolk Hospital some clincs, like phlebotomy and obstetrics, will go ahead as normal.
Community heart failure clincs are cancelled and will be re-arranged.
GP services across Suffolk will be closed, although some pharmacies will remain open.
