Ipswich Town defender Greg Leigh is facing a significant amount of time out, after suffering a compression fracture to his leg during the match against Sheffield Wednesday last week.

He will have to wear a brace for around six weeks, ruling him out of the Blues squad until late October at the earliest.

Speaking to the ITFC website, boss Kieran McKenna said: "Initially, it was presumed to be some bone bruising but the scans have unfortunately picked up a compression fracture on the top of his leg.

"That’s really disappointing for him and for the group. He’s going to be out for a fair amount of time. He’s going to be in a brace for six weeks and then we’ll see how the bone heals after that.

"But that’s why we started off with the basis of a good squad and a big squad. We have lots of versatile players who can do different roles, and we’re going to need that over the next few weeks."

Cameron Burgess, who suffered facial fractures earlier this month during the Bristol Rovers game, had now had successful surgery. He's facing at least another month out.
