Programme of free summer sports launched for Ipswich kids
They'll be able to take part in a range of activities at no cost
Children in Ipswich are being given the chance to get involved in a whole host of free summer activities.
The Borough Council's bringing back its iCard scheme for another year.
Kids between 5 and 16, who live or go to school in IP1, IP2, IP3 and IP4 will be eligible.
Over 300 activities are taking place from jet skiing to summer camps and free swimming.
The authority claims it's the largest free access to summer sports and activities of its kind in England.
It's designed to keep young people entertained and safe during the holidays.
Cllr Bryony Rudkin, Ipswich Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Sports, says: “We are delighted to be launching the summer sports activity programme. We really want young people in the town to have a great time in safe and welcoming spaces offering a wide range of experiences, old and new.
"I am really pleased that Ipswich Borough Council is once again helping our young people get active and have a great summer through our iCard!”
