Flood support in Mid Suffolk is set to start rolling out by the end of the month, according to the council leader.

With several communities across the district still recovering from the effects of storms Babet and Ciarán, the council's now announced that funding is on the way.

The funding — part of a central Government grant — will provide homes and businesses with £500 and £2,500 respectively to assist with initial recovery costs.

As it is distributed by the county council, Mid Suffolk leader, Andy Mellen, is urging residents in the district to submit flooding reports via the county council’s website.

Cllr Mellen added: “We will be reviewing our response to the flooding to see what could be improved – and also how we can build more resilience into our communities.”
