A flood at a tower block in Ipswich has caused 'significant damage', with residents being moved into temporary accomodation.
Water started leaking at St Francis Tower late on Saturday night.
The building has already been wrapped in plastic sheeting, as work continues to replace potentially flammable cladding.
It is alleged by the building's management company that communal pipework was damaged by someone inside the tower, causing the flood.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Ipswich Borough Council said: "Late Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday, a significant flood occurred, resulting in substantial damage at St Francis Tower."
"An evacuation of the building took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. The Council provided a rest centre with facilities for showers, beds, meals, and toys for the children until temporary accommodation was arranged on Sunday afternoon.
"The council has supported displaced residents by securing temporary accommodation, allowing the building owner and their insurers time to fully assess the situation and determine next steps."
