The First Light Festival is back in Lowestoft today after a two year hiatus brought about by the pandemic.

The 24 hour event, launched in 2019, is expected to bring thousands of people to the town to see live music and entertainment running until midday tomorrow.

Events are being held across the seafront, with the main Sunlight Stage and a cinema screen set up on the South Beach and a secondary stage in Kensington Gardens.

There are also activites along Jubilee Parade and the Upper Esplanade.

Further afield, Mossy's nightclub and the Seagull Theatre are also getting involved.

Festivalgoers are being offered the chance to camp out on the beach overnight in a 'wild camping' area.

The lineup includes drum and bass legend LTJ Bukem, world music group Kosmos, folk group Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys and London singer Juanita Euka.

Elsewhere, the festival includes a 'Planet Positive' zone offering science and nature based activities.

There will be literature, poetry and writing workshops throughout the day and plenty of food on offer across the site.

The iconic East Point Pavilion is reopening to coincide with the festival.

Greater Anglia is running extra trains between Norwich, Ipswich and Lowestoft tonight to help people get home.

The last service to Norwich departs at 23:47, the last train to Ipswich leaves at 23:35.
