Over 20 crews are on the scene of a fire in a block of flats in Ipswich

Firefighters from across Suffolk and Essex are dealing with a serious fire in Ipswich.

Crews from Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich East, Woodbridge, Prince Street, Holbrook, Framlingham, Felixstowe, Orford, Needham Market, Hadleigh, Haverhill, Elmswell, and Ixworth have been called to the scene on Yeoman Close.

Emergency services were initially called just before 2pm this afternoon (12th July).

Police say they are on the scene and assisting with road closures which are in place on Yeoman Close and the nearby area.
