Fire crews continue to deal with serious thatch fire in Hengrave

Crews have been on the scene all night

Fire crews are continuing to dampen down a serious fire in Hengrave this morning.

At its peak 26 crews were called to the scene on the A1101 near Bury St Edmunds at around 8pm on Monday 25th April.

The road is still blocked this morning while emergency services continue to deal with hot spots, with drivers being urged to find alternative routes where possible.

During the peak of the fire local residents were urged to keep their windows and doors closed.
