Motorcyclist in hospital with serious injuries following crash near Elmswell
He came off the road and collided with some railings
A man's in hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Elmswell.
It happened around 5:20pm yesterday, Tuesday 5 September.
Officers were called to reports that a motorbike travelling along Elmswell Road in Great Ashfield left the road and collided with the railings on the verge.
Police, an ambulance crew, an air ambulance and the fire service were all in attendance at the scene.
The motorcyclist – a man aged in his 20s – was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s hospital having sustained serious injuries.
The road was blocked in both directions whilst emergency services attended to the collision.
It reopened at approximately 10:50pm.
Police are now urging any witnesses to the collision and any motorists with dash cam footage to come forward.
Officers would particularly like to trace the driver of a small red car which was captured on CCTV travelling towards Badwell Ash around the time of the incident, who may have witnessed the collision.
