Elderly man robbed at home in Ipswich
It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning
Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was robbed at his home in Ipswich.
It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, between 3.30am and 4am, at an address in Cliff Lane.
The glass in a door was smashed to gain entry to the house, which woke the victim up.
When he went to investigate, he was confronted by a man who grabbed him by the arm and demanded money from him.
The victim gave the man some cash.
The suspect then left and appeared to meet up with two other men outside.
The three of them then walked away in the direction of Dereham Avenue.
Police say the victim was left very shaken by the incident and sustained a bruise to his arm, but was otherwise unharmed.
The suspects are described as follows:
• Suspect one (who entered the address): White, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build. He was wearing dark clothing with either a hat or a hood and also had gloves on. He spoke with a local Suffolk accent.
• Suspect two: (seen outside): Approximately 5ft 8in tall, stocky build. He was also wearing dark-coloured clothing.
• Suspect three (seen outside): Approximately 5ft 8in tall, of average build and also wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident and are asking for anyone who lives in the vicinity of Cliff Lane with a doorbell camera or CCTV to review the footage between 3am and 4.30am on the morning of the break in.
