A warm weekend is expected across the East of England with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) urging us to be careful in the sun and look out for vulnerable friends and relatives.

Warm and sunny spells are expected across East Anglia, with temperatures reaching around 25C in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex on Saturday and going as high as 29C on Sunday.

Further inland, Cambridgeshire can expect highs of around 27C on Saturday.

The alert covers the East of England, as well as central and southern parts of the country

The yellow warning from the UKHSA means the government expects some extra pressure on the health service.

We're being urged to check on older friends and neighbours while the hot weather persists.

While temperatures are forecast to drop to the low 20s on Monday, the UKHSA says warmer conditions could persist in the East until Tuesday.
