Police in Suffolk have arrested three people in connection with a string of drug offences in Stowmarket.

Following a incident on Monday (February 7th), Suffolk Constabulary confirmed that two men were arrested after refusing to stop for police while driving through the town.

A 23-year-old man fled the silver Citroen C5 but was later found and detained, whilst in possession of a large amount of cash. The man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering, obstruction of a police officer and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

The second man, a 25-year-old, was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering, as well as being concerned in the supply of drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and driving with no insurance or licence.

A third man, aged 30, was arrested after police stopped a similar Citroen C4 later in the day. After using a sniffer dog to search the car, 14 small bags containing white powder were discovered, along side a large quantity of cash.

The third man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

All three men are being held at Bury St Edmunds' Police Investigation Centre as police piece together if the crimes were linked.

Police are continuing to appeal for more information about the incidents and are asking anyone with relevant accounts of what they saw to come forward at their local police station.
